THE AZURIAN DECEMBER 1924

The First Year

The Azurian of December 1924 names new staff, contributors to the magazine and new boys.


Staff who joined in this third term were: H N R Moore BA, BSc, Selwyn College, Cambridge; W J R Deeks BA, Downing College, Cambridge; H Wright BA, Diplome Superieur de l'Alliance Francaise, Downing College, Cambridge; G Coombs BSc, King's College, London: H D Cochrane BA FitzWilliam Hall, Cambridge, and W T Hazzard, Manual Trainiing Diploma (Woodwork), County School of Art, Isle of Wight.


Contributors were up. Angles and Jutes contributed a house song; none from Saxons and Vikings. House Notes appeared for the first time and became a long-standing feature; a rich source of information about pupils. There were also reports from numerous societies: Literary and Debating Society, Scientific and Photographic Society, Musical and Dramatic Society, Art and Manual Societies, Wireless Society and the Chess Club.


More than 50 new pupils had enrolled and were allocated to one of the four houses.
